1985年11月28日、イギリス・カーディフ生まれ。
外交官だった父の関係で、3～10歳まで日本で過ごす。
20代でロックバンドを組み、その後、ドキュメンタリー映画の監督に。
15年、小説家としてのデビュー作「十角館の満開の下」が大ベストセラーとなり、世界ミステリー・ブックレビュー新人賞を受賞。
20ヵ国を超える国と地域で翻訳されている。
現在、日本在住。
